Green thinking is an integral part of DPA’s practice. DPA’s Environmentally Sustainable Design department comprises architects, Green Mark professionals, environmental engineers and building scientists who work closely with design architects and M&E engineers to provide innovative green solutions, enabling them to develop an environmentally and socially responsive built environment that will help mitigate its carbon footprint, as well as overall energy and water demands. Assimilating and streamlining the creative and technical processes of architecture, sustainable design and engineering is the key to DPA’s green design process.
Being one of the first architecture firms in Singapore to offer a truly integrated sustainable design process, DPA has scored many firsts in providing for a more sustainable and inhabitable built environment: the first two Green Mark District awards for Resorts World Sentosa and NUS University Town, both achieving the second highest rating of GoldPlus; the first Green Mark Platinum awarded to a private landed house, 36BTrd; and the inaugural Green Mark award for the New Park category conferred on River Safari. DPA has also been recognised by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore as one of the architecture firms with the highest number of Green Mark Platinum and GoldPlus projects.
