David Liauw

Director

The daily challenge is to preserve and expand on the essence of architecture – the relationship between person and building – while producing a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing design.

Believing that to create a perfect, timeless architectural masterpiece is the ultimate goal for any architect, Mr David Liauw also holds that the essence of architecture lies in the relationship between the people and the building. Thus, his designs are driven by a balance of two: site context and the requirements of the client.

With more than twenty years in the industry and an MBA in international business, David was responsible for the successful set-up and running of DP Architects’ China offices and completed projects which include residential and commercial developments in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou and urban master-planning projects in the Middle East and Malaysia. His projects include Tianjin Eco-city Masterplan, Paya Lebar Quarter and eCO Bedok.

An ardent lifelong learner, David enjoys broadening his knowledge. To date, he has an MBA, a law degree, a MA in Southeast Asian studies and a doctorate in philosophy.
