Lesley Lim

Director

Never design for one condition; good design lies in its adaptability to changing time or needs.

Lesley Lim has extensive experience and knowledge of the full process of design and project management. Having been involved in projects from concept to completion, she is equipped with the necessary knowhow to formulate design briefs and to lead an architectural team through the various stages of project work, including the construction phase in the current BIM environment. Her attention to detail is advantageous in contract administration, and ensures clients of an effective and satisfactory handover upon completion of their projects.

Lesley’s ability to combine her keen understanding of the industry and the technical and administrative work processes, with her collaborative approach in design has enabled her to deliver well-calibrated design solutions for her clients. Her portfolio of work across various typologies and scale throughout the region attests to this. In the 1990s, she worked alongside Tsao & McKown on Suntec City, John Portman on Marina Square and Gathmay Siegal on Nanyang Polytechnic.

In 2002, Lesley relocated to China to set up DPA’s head branch office in Shanghai. Over the course of 14 years, she worked with local Chinese architects and authorities on numerous projects including Oasis Riveria Condominium, the master planning of Linkong Business Park and Hongqiao Mixed Development, as well as GBA International Sports and Cultural Center.

Beyond field expertise, Lesley has also helped grow DPA’s presence in China, setting up offices in Shenzhen and Guangzhou as well. Today, the director of DPA is based in DP’s headquarters in Singapore where she continues to be actively involved in design management and project administration. Her recent completed works include the award-winning SBF Center and Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. She also brought her expertise and experience to DPA’s offices in Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur; and oversaw office operations as well as led mentorship and in-house training programmes to further develop talents within the practice.
