Today, DP is well-entrenched in the Chinese market with offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Despite the speed and scale at which urbanism is occurring in China, we continue to push out designs of excellent form and function across different typologies and varying scales. Attesting to this are Foshan Arena Centre, Wuhan Yulong Financial Centre, Nanjing Fuying Tower, Nanjing Software Park Chuanyuan Tower, and Dalian Meilihui Mixed-development, and Beijing Lippo Plaza. Massive in scale, each features distinctive architecture and design that is thoughtful to people-space relation and user-experience.

GBA International Sports and Cultural Center

2018
Situated south of the Dongping River within the new Central Business Zone, GBA International Sports and Cultural Center represents a paradigm shift in the approach to architectural and city planning – where public spaces are holistically integrated, forming a vibrant network of spaces designed to cater to the needs of contemporary lifestyles and the necessary spatial multiplicities. Given the large scale of the development, GBA International Sports and Cultural Center – which includes an NBA-standard basketball arena with both commercial and retail components – was designed to develop synergetic relationships across various functions through the use of interstitial spaces, creating natural circulatory flows throughout the development.

Poly Liuzhou International Center

2018
Poly Liuzhou International Centre is a 130,000sqm mixed development located at Baisha Road, Liuzhou in Guangxi, China. The province forms part of a large geological formation generally known as the South China Karst, characterised by the dissolution of soluble bedrock, resulting in some of the most stunning landscapes. There are at least six parks formed out of the Karst landscape within the city, consisting of beautiful isolated peaks and river terraces. Drawing inspiration from this stunning geological formation, the design inserts elements of the ‘weathering’ of the landform into this urban complex. As with how sun, wind and rain made their impressions on the Karst landscape, the architectural form is envisioned to resemble this carving albeit by urban forces.

Crowne Plaza Chengdu Wenjiang and Holiday Inn Express

2016
The development comprises two resorts and hot-spring hotels: the 458-key Chengdu Wenjiang Crowne Plaza and the 150-key Holiday Inn Express. These two hotels of 25 and 12 storeys sit on a five-storey podium with shared amenities including a large ballroom and a large hot-spring facilities. Located between a river park towards the south and an urban park towards the north, an urban green belt that is part of the city urban planning also runs along the eastern part of the site. Designing the site as an extension of the green belt, the project is positioned as an urban oasis.
