DP Architects has established a strong presence in Indonesia since the early 1990s. Over the past few decades, we are fortunate to have grown from strength to strength, garnering deep experience in a wide range of typologies projects. This includes hospitality, residential, institutional, commercial and mixed developments at various scales. Contributing to the country’s urban development, our team of professionals has delivered quality projects across all major cities throughout the archipelago and continues to do so today.

Working with numerous diverse developers and consultants in the industry, our design teams have developed a niche in designing both complex, large-scale developments as well as smaller boutique projects. In fact, a major part of our portfolio in the region comprises mixed-use developments that integrate multiple components – namely commercial, residential, hospitality, medical and educational – all in one convenient location. In congested cities like Jakarta, where developments tend to be ahead of infrastructure and public services, such mixed-use offerings minimise travelling time and promote social interaction, which helps develop a greater sense of community. The complexities of integrating so many different functions are manifold, but we have established a good track record in producing pragmatic and elegantly designed solutions within each client’s means.

In recent years, our team has also worked on smaller projects with boutique developers. Here, the clientele demands to differentiate their projects with unique, beautiful and people-oriented spaces that raise the quality of life.

Kemang Village

Kemang Village

2011
Spread over ten hectares, Kemang Village is a lushly landscaped integrated development, designed to revitalise the Kemang district that is fast becoming a prestigious and sought-after commercial and residential zone. The site is divided into two plots – Kemang Village Residences, which comprises four residential towers of up to 43 storeys; and a mixed-use plot which comprises a hotel, a school and three apartment towers above a retail podium. The buildings were thoughtfully arranged to maximise distances between them and provide unobstructed views of the surroundings.


Ciputra World Surabaya

Ciputra World Surabaya

Serving as a catalyst towards the city’s progress, Ciputra World Surabaya is a master plan project covering an area of 571,000sqm, to be completed in five phases. It comprises a five-storey retail podium, six residential towers, two SOHO towers, two office towers, a three-star hotel and a condo-hotel located in Surabaya, Indonesia's second-largest city and the capital of the province of East Java. The edges of the building were softened by peeling back the façade and designating a park in the front of the mall. Sky gardens activate the roofscape and extend the park onto the mall podium. The master plan strategy provides flexibility for expansion, responding to programmatic changes and future land acquisitions. In line with the original master plan and inspired by a garden concept, open spaces and natural elements are incorporated into the design. The public park fronting the mall is perceived as a green oasis and creates a sense of physical and visual openness, offering spatial relief among the highly dense surroundings.


LaVie
Indonesia > Jakarta

LaVie

2014
La Vie, a luxury residential development in Jakarta, adopts a simple linear language which expresses a modern and timeless architecture. The two towers are laid out on the irregular site and within the required setbacks upon an established rectilinear grid in a systematic and rational fashion. The configuration places the two towers in a predominantly north-south orientation, spaced and staggered to create porosity and, at the same time, craft unique and enviable views for every apartment suite. Suites sized between 90sqm to 165sqm are designed based on a regularised dimensional order that generates consistency in room sizes, structural spans and façade dimensions, translating to an increase in buildability and constructability. Working together with DP Green, this dimensional order is also echoed in the landscaped design approach.
