Tong Bin Sin
Director
The Architect’s role is not to design what he wants but what the brief and site needs, in good taste.
Bugis Junction Mixed Use Development, successfully completed in 1995, was Mr Tong Bin Sin’s first project. The complexity of its design brief and collaboration with a large multi-disciplinary consultancy team laid the foundation for his methodical approach and appreciation of collaborative teamwork in project implementation. Thereafter, Bin Sin worked on the management and implementation of many major projects ranging from commercial to hospitality and residential. These include Paya Lebar Square, The Seletar Mall, The Sky 11 and Southbank condominiums.
Bin Sin also has good experience working on big A&A projects like The Paragon Shopping Center Phase 1 & 2, The Paragon façade enhancement and Carlton Hotel North Bridge Road. Working in close collaboration with the clients, these projects involve innovative asset enhancement initiatives with complex programming and design phasing to facilitate carrying out of construction works to meet multiple leasing commitments without disrupting ongoing operations.
His strength in analytical problem solving, coupled with a sense of pragmatism, and firm belief in the importance of collaborative teamwork and every individual’s role in it, informs the principles and creative processes that Bin Sin adopts in his rigorous approach to design management and project implementation.
