Djoko has nearly 30 years of professional experiences in urban planning and urban design. He is one of very few Singapore planners, who has the experience in developing and implementing larger scale master plans including city and regional planning in Asia, Middle East and Africa.
His experience in handling very complex urban projects in different parts of the world shapes his thoughts and beliefs in finding non-conventional and yet context-specific solutions in all his projects.
Apart from handling master planning projects, Djoko has over the years assisted many planning authorities in the region in conducting staff capacity building programmes in urban planning, housing and infrastructure planning
Djoko sits at the Advisory Committee of Kigali City Council in Rwanda, who advise the City Council on the various planning and urban issues. He is also a Council Member of the Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP) and teaches as an adjunct lecturer at the School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore (NUS).
