Alpha City is biggest winner of Vietnam Property Awards 2018

Alpha City, a 50-storey residential-retail tower located at the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, has emerged as the most successful development in the Vietnam Property Awards 2018. The mixed-use development has won both Best Condo Architectural Design and Best Retail Development awards, and has been highly recommended in the Best Luxury Condo, Best Mix-used Development, Best Green Development, Best Retail Architectural Design, and Best Condo Interior Design categories, bringing the total number of accolades to seven. Alpha City, designed by DP Architects and expected to be completed in 2021, is the flagship project developed by Alpha King Real Estate Development Joint Stock Company.

The building is designed with the human scale in mind, from the façade treatment and tapered volume, to the abundant greenery.  Located along the bustling Nguyễn Cư Trinh, the distinctive tapered form enhances the skyline of historic landmarks and the new up-and-coming District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City. The towers boast unparalleled views of the city – from the Saigon River to the historic site of the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica.

Alpha City, designed to be a green oasis in the surrounding dense urban fabric, is a welcome respite from the concrete jungle. From the lush landscaping of the private residential entrance, away from the public retail entrance; sky gardens with panoramic views; to the canopy of trees lining the pool deck, the development is a green enclave for residents to enjoy nature within the city.

The varying façade treatment of pixelation, verticality and stratification, is a re-interpretation of the traditional Vietnamese patterns, and a nod to the cultural and site context. The façade design breaks up the volume of the tower and creates a distinctive elevation. A rooftop bar on the 49th floor crowns the towers, and provides a sweeping view from the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Vietnam Property Awards is the biggest industry award in the country, and recognises the best developers, projects and design in real estate. The award ceremony was held on 22 June 2018 at the Intercontinental Saigon Hotel.
