Six of DP Architects’ (DPA) projects have been recognised at the BLT Built Design Awards 2025, with Bukit Canberra, Singapore Island Country Club and The Standard, Singapore, emerging as winners in their respective categories.
The BLT Built Design Awards celebrate excellence in the global building industry, recognising outstanding achievements across architecture, interior design, construction products and project management. The awards ceremony will take place on 21st November 2025 at the Elisabethenkirche in Basel, Switzerland.
Bukit Canberra, winner in the Recreational category, is a multi-functional civic hub designed to serve a growing community. Integrating healthcare, sports and lifestyle amenities within a biodiverse, walkable landscape, over 80% of the site is preserved as green space. A biomimicry-inspired master plan adapts to natural contours and heritage elements. Sustainable strategies include passive design, rainwater harvesting and DfMA construction. The design fosters social well-being, ecological resilience and long-term community cohesiveness by harmonising built and natural environments.
Also a winner in the Recreational category, Singapore Island Country Club redefines the traditional clubhouse with a community-centric, inclusive design rooted in nature. Set against the Lornie Nature Reserve, the clubhouse features courtyards, layered façades and curated landscapes that blur indoor-outdoor boundaries. Designed around existing topography, it preserves ecological integrity with a green deck and carpark requiring no additional excavation. The result is a sustainable, wellness-focused environment that fosters intergenerational connection, sensory engagement and a meaningful dialogue between built and natural elements.
The Standard, Singapore, winner in the Hospitality category, embodies a bold interpretation of “Tropics meets American billboard.” Static yet expressive, it drew inspiration from the American billboard while capturing the quirky and dynamic nature of The Standard Hotel brand. Its lenticular façade, created with DP Façade, reflects the brand’s dynamic spirit. Together with DP Green, a sunken courtyard of verdant terraces bridges Orchard Road’s energy with Nassim’s calm. A reconfigured podium tucks the massing aside to reveal a hidden tropical oasis, connecting vibrant social spaces, a pool bar check-in and landscaped decks through playful, layered spatial experiences.
Three projects – House of Tan Yeok Nee, Life Hub @ Bund Central and RMZ Nexity – were awarded an Honourable Mention in the Architectural Design category.
House of Tan Yeok Nee was recognised for its sensitive restoration and adaptive reuse of Singapore’s only remaining traditional Chinese mansion. Built in 1882, the mansion integrates heritage preservation with contemporary uses such as offices, cafes and a heritage gallery. Extensive restoration by Teochew craftsmen and collaboration with Chinese artisans ensured authentic conservation, respecting historic aesthetics. The building, once closed off, will soon welcome the public, blending history with vibrant new functions.
Life Hub @ Bund Central is a mixed-use complex located in Shanghai, integrating retail and office spaces within an urban regeneration effort. The design merges heritage and modernity through interconnected plazas, alleyways, and elevated public spaces. Its textured grey-toned volumes respond to views of The Bund, weaving indoor and outdoor spaces to create dynamic social and public environments.
RMZ Nexity is a striking campus in Hyderabad’s High-Tech Knowledge City, featuring three iconic towers. Designed for sustainability and connectivity, it boasts green courtyards, pedestrian boulevards, and biophilic features like cooling water bodies. The Loft hub combines dining, retail, fitness, and culture, while office floors maximise daylight, views, and thermal comfort through an energy-efficient façade.
This recognition across diverse typologies reflects our commitment to design excellence and our pursuit of innovative, purpose-driven solutions that create lasting, better-than-sustainable outcomes.
