Balancing commercial functionality and civic-minded spatial engagement, Odeon 333 reimagines commercial frontage as a living, active landscape. Situated next to Odeon 331, the development redefines urban continuity, establishing meaningful dialogue between the old and new by adopting a similar material language through the choice of glass typologies, textures and tonalities to present a cohesive and unified frontage while retaining each building’s distinct architectural identities.
By transforming zoning constraints into architectural opportunities that shape the form and programmes of Odeon 333, the design leverages URA’s Privately-Owned Public Spaces (POPS) framework to reimagine the ground floor as an urban living room that extends the civic realm seamlessly through to the existing lobbies of Odeon 331, the latter now also transformed into a naturally ventilated, open public space. Bold red spatial elements—mounds, seating, swings, planters and playful features—introduce vibrancy and play, activating the space and engaging the community.
Odeon 333 has obtained BCA Green Mark Platinum, reflecting its commitment to environmentally conscious designs. Key sustainable features include the integration of biophilic spaces such as garden terraces, vertical landscaping and overhanging greenery, which improve air quality, provide thermal buffering and support urban biodiversity. Full height windows and high-performance glazing maximise natural light while shading and planted overhangs mitigate solar heat gain; and the use of cross-wind ventilation in circulation corridors and lobby spaces minimises mechanical cooling, to enhance energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
