On 21st July 2026, ‘Convergence: Connecting Spaces, Senses & Shared Experiences’, an LRL Excellence Dialogues session held as part of the Singapore Archifest 2026 festival fringe, was hosted at Casa Mori Singapore. Moderated by Stanislava Boskovic, architect and founding director of LRL Space Lugano, the evening brought together DP Architects CEO Ar. Seah Chee Huang and Willin Low, restaurateur and inventor of Modern Singaporean (Mod-Sin) cuisine, for a conversation that traversed two disciplines rarely placed in direct dialogue.
The discussion explored the overlap in how architecture and the culinary arts shape the way we experience place. Though expressed through different mediums, both disciplines draw on tangible and intangible qualities to evoke memory, stir the senses and foster a sense of belonging. Ar. Seah and Willin traced over the course of their discussion how creativity emerges from the interplay of innovation and heritage, and how diverse cultural traditions enrich design and practice for inclusion, community and wellbeing.
The LRL Excellence Dialogues series is designed to surface overlooked dimensions of design excellence by weaving together perspectives from different fields, inviting new ways of seeing that may inspire future research, collaborations and projects. The Singapore edition, conceived, curated and presented in close collaboration with DP Architects, reflects the firm’s practice and commitment to engaging with design as a broader cultural and civic conversation, extending well beyond the boundaries of the built environment.
