DP delivers keynote at India Shopping Centre Forum 2018

DP Director Mr Chua Zi Jun was both keynote speaker and panellist at India Shopping Centre Forum 2018 in Mumbai on 11th April 2018. Speaking on the topic of mall design and development, Mr Chua opened and set the context of the panel session by sharing with the audience his insights gained from his retail and mix-used typology research on the changing landscape of the retail industry and what retail malls of the future could become.

During the intensive panel, he and his fellow panellists comprising of developers, retailers and real estate, tackled several issues such as how retail malls can be differentiated; whether it is necessary to include retailers in the blueprint stage of retail mall development; and the latest trends in mall design.

Mr Chua contributed to the panel session by giving his input from an architect’s perspective on how thoughtful architectural design for retail malls can involve not only the architects, but also the developers, retailers and other partners, in order to create a unique and memorable retail experience. Thus, redefining the retail experience of the future.

India Shopping Centre Forum is India’s largest annual conference that brings together partners from architecture, development, leasing and management to learn and share knowledge on retail trends in India.
