These were the three values that DP Design director Mike Lim left his audience of industry partners and professionals at the IDCS Professional Development Programme (PDP), held on 6th June at the National Design Centre. Sharing his design philosophy and journey of design spaces and changes for users’ needs through his body of works, Mike holds that the commitment to perfection must permeate every facet of a designer’s life. He encouraged the audience of fellow designers to remain teachable and open to continuous learning in their own journeys; believing that this is the key to design excellence and success. Testaments of this include Our Tampines Hub – a pioneering integrated community, sports and lifestyle hub, and Cinemaxx Junior, the first theatre in Asia that integrates play elements into the movie-going experience.
The PDP is an initiative by IDCS to serve and reach out to the interior design community in Singapore. This year, following the honour of receiving Designer of the Year at the Interior Design Excellence Awards 2018/2019, which was organized by IDCS (Interior Design Confederation Singapore), Mike was invited to speak at PDP alongside Mr CK Low, Co-Founder of 0932 Design Consultants who won Project of the Year for their Corals residential project.
