DPA Clinches Three Wins At The SGBC-BCA Leadership In Sustainability Awards 2026 |

Three DP Architects (DPA) projects have clinched wins across the Community Engagement, Carbon Performance and Intelligent Building sub-categories at the biennial sustainability gala.
On 30th July 2026, the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) jointly presented the Leadership in Sustainability Awards at a Gala Dinner held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. The awards celebrate outstanding achievement in sustainable building across the built environment, recognising projects that demonstrate leadership in environmental performance, innovation and responsible design. DP Architects returned from the evening with three wins under the Building Project Leadership in Sustainability Award, a reflection of our practice’s enduring commitment to sustainability as a foundational principle across project typologies and scales.
The Greenhouse at Dulwich College (Singapore) was recognised in the Carbon Performance sub-category. A seven-storey academic building set within a compact campus, The Greenhouse is certified by BCA as Green Mark 2021 Platinum Zero Energy, with additional badges in Health and Wellbeing, Intelligence and Maintainability. The project adopts a performance-based, climate-responsive design that minimises energy demand through passive strategies, complemented by highly efficient active systems including passive displacement cooling and smart sensors for demand control. Net-zero energy operation is achieved through an expansive Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) structure on the north-west façade and roof, supplemented by photovoltaic installations across other campus buildings, which delivers an overall 101% replacement of energy through renewables. The project also achieved a 34% reduction in embodied carbon relative to the reference building through extensive use of structural steel, a low Concrete Usage Index of 0.32 and full adoption of SGBC-certified low-carbon concrete.
Paya Lebar Green was recognised in the Intelligent Building sub-category. The development holds the distinction of being the first in Singapore to attain all five sustainability badges — Health and Wellbeing, Whole Life Carbon, Resilience, Intelligence and Maintainability, for both new and redevelopment buildings, reflecting a comprehensive approach by joint partners Certis and Lendlease that extends beyond typical industry practice. The project integrates adaptive reuse, low-carbon material selection, on-site solar photovoltaic systems, advanced building systems and passive design strategies to reduce environmental impact while enhancing long-term operational performance. A building performance optimisation platform continuously monitors and fine-tunes operations for peak efficiency, while tenant power management systems provide real-time energy insights that empower occupants to actively manage their consumption, bringing technology and experience together to deliver sustainable solutions that prioritise environmental commitment and occupant wellbeing.
SAFRA Choa Chu Kang Clubhouse was recognised in the Community Engagement sub-category. The clubhouse redefines sustainable community architecture by harmonising nature, fitness and community within a design strategy that prioritises wellness and public accessibility. Its building massing is also oriented in the North-South direction to draw in greenery from the adjacent park, while its open-sided, porous layout offers 24-hour public access and seamless integration. The ‘Steps-of-Life’ feature staircase extends the park’s running route vertically to a fourth-storey sky track, while a robust façade provides acoustic shielding from the adjacent expressway. Sustainability outcomes were optimised through a whole life carbon assessment conducted at the planning stage alongside a climatic response study, achieving 42.7% in energy savings through rooftop photovoltaics, smart irrigation and waste-heat recovery.
These recognitions underscore DPA’s approach to sustainability as more than a performance benchmark, but woven into the thinking behind every project from the earliest design decisions to the lived experience of the people who use and inhabit our buildings.
