Five DPA Projects Recognised at International Design Awards 2024

At the recently concluded International Design Awards (IDA) 2024, five of DPA projects were recognised across multiple categories. They are Pullman Singapore Hill Street, SAFRA Choa Chua Kang Clubhouse, Dairy Farm Residences, Goodlife Studio (Bukit Purmei) and The Woodleigh Residences & The Woodleigh Mall.

Pullman Singapore Hill Street is accorded Gold in the Hospitality category, Interior Project Development. A project that is informed by its historically rich locale, and a blend of modern luxury and history. One of the first Pullman properties to fully embody the railway theme and George Pullman train cars through its design, the hotel interior follows through with dark, warm tones that hark back to vintage locomotives. From its lobby, to its lounge and guestrooms, each space is designed to evoke the experience of luxurious train travel.

 

Scoring a Silver in the Commercial Architecture, Sports/Recreational Facilities is SAFRA Choa Chu Kang Clubhouse. The award-winning project is accorded for its wellbeing-focused, sustainability-forward and community-oriented design strategies, benefiting the wider Choa Chu Kang neighbourhood in Singapore. Designed in collaboration with DP Engineers, DP Green and DP Sustainable Design, the project tackles operational carbon with its high-porosity design and innovatively integrated range of active and passive design strategies.

 

Dairy Farm Residences, the condominium development is awarded Bronze in the Residential Architecture, Mixed Use Architecture category. Sited in the tranquil Hillview estate in Singapore, it affords its residents the ideal luxury and serene living. Across four towers, its 460 units utilises 42 different modules to deliver 16 different unit types and provides optimal views of the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.

Goodlife Studio (Bukit Purmei) received Bronze in the Cultural/Community Interior Design Category. The active ageing centre is recognised for its innovative approach towards the senior care centre typology in Singapore. Converting it from a void deck space into a social living room, it breaks away from conventional senior care centre design with its non-gated setup is punctuated by bright solid hues paired with muted timber tones. Anchored by a learning-focused activity, with “Kayu Artisan” as its main studio to meaningfully engage male seniors at higher risk of isolation through craftmanship activities that they are already familiar with.

 

The Woodleigh Residences & The Woodleigh Mall received an Honorable Mention. The mixed-use development comprises 28,000 sqm of retail space, a 6,000sqm community club, a 2,100sqm neighbourhood police centre and 11 towers residential towers of 667 units, adopting Pre-fabricated Pre-Finished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) methods.

The IDA is an annual award that exists to recognise, celebrate and promote design visionaries across various design disciplines, from architecture, interior design to graphic and fashion design. It is organised by The Farmani Group, which also organises the prestigious Architecture MasterPrize award programme.
