Bringing three WELL-certified office towers, a retail mall and a 429-unit residential development into the heart of Paya Lebar Central, Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ) has reinvigorated the once sleepy town with new zest and vibrancy. The mixed-use development, sited next to Paya Lebar MRT Station, contributes to a sense of place by synergizing with the adjacent Paya Lebar Square and SingPost Centre, and its surrounds.
The key to this was to create a pedestrian-friendly commercial hub. Spread across four plots, each building within PLQ is set in dialogue with one another by a delightful public realm that allows for meaningful experiences and enriches the communities. Park Place Residences is connected to PLQ Mall via an Elevated Pedestrian Network on the second storey and linked to Office Tower 3 via a lushly landscaped public promenade at ground plane. This flows seamlessly into the public plaza which links PLQ Mall to Office Towers 1 and 2 via a public plaza. Sheltered by a lightweight, tensile canopy, the plaza is a weather-friendly space; ideal for community events, urban exhibitions, alfresco dining and casual hangouts. Running down the central spine of the four plots, it not only anchors the mix of programmes in PLQ but also serves as an important pedestrian pathway between Paya Lebar Central and its surrounding neighbourhood.
