Embracing Nature and Community in the Workplace
Woods Square
6 Woodlands Square, Singapore 737737

Woods Square, a pioneering mixed-use development comprising retail and office components, is leading the transformation of the Woodlands precinct into a thriving commercial zone.

Spread across two plots, the design creating a pedestrian-centric retail hub and building an urban office community. Open areas within the development were sensitively crafted to integrate with the adjacent towers and surrounding urban fabric, creating an inclusive and seamless groundscape. Vistas and view corridors were carved out within the development to visually link key areas in the groundscape, creating a sense of arrival and visual porosity through and around the site.

The design also dovetails the government’s plan to develop a corridor of extensive greenery for the North. With the support of DP Green, the architectural scheme leverages the benefits of biophilic design to promote community wellbeing and encourage socialization. Sky terraces are introduced on alternate floors of the Strata Tower as sites of lush respite and the roof decks epitomises work-life balance. Here, meeting pods purposed for facilitating collaboration run alongside state-of-the-art amenities such as the swimming pool and gym intended for making health and wellness accessible to end-users.

Its extensive landscaped areas also serve as a green lung that cools the development naturally.  Sun-shading fins and fritted glass on the façade reduces heat and glare from the sun; consequently, minimising energy consumption and optimising indoor thermal comfort.
