Recognised for their well-considered approaches to contextually sensitive and user-oriented design, projects by DP Architects (DPA), DP Green (DPG) and DP Design (DPD) have been awarded as winners at the LIV Hospitality Design Awards 2025, namely The Opera Residence, My Home 99, The Standard, Singapore and Capitol Bistro. Bar. Patisserie. Two projects, Novotel Goa Panjim and Singapore Airlines Perth SilverKris Lounge have also been commended with Honorable Mention at the awards.
A winner in both the Hotel – Midscale and Lifestyle and Landscape Design categories at the awards, The Standard, Singapore by DPA and DPG showcases an architectural, landscaping and hospitality design that eloquently captures the unorthodox character of The Standard brand. The hotel features biophilic transitional spaces, with a lenticular façade and cantilevered massing that articulate a modern and expressive form. Positioned between the contrasting urbanscapes of Singapore’s Orchard Road retail belt and the Botanic Gardens, the design of The Standard, Singapore takes cues from its context to blend the vibrancy of the city with the serenity of nature. Inspired by the layered ecologies of its adjacent natural surroundings, the landscape design transforms the compact site into a stage where nature, culture and wellness converge, with hidden courtyards, semi-secluded caves and tiered terraces creating a pop-biophilic experience.
Capitol Bistro. Bar. Patisserie by DP Design is a winner in the Interior Design, Restaurant – Brasserie category, extending Singapore’s ‘City in Nature’ narrative into a space anchored in the heritage setting of The Capitol Kempinski Hotel. An additions and alteration project, it has been re-envisioned as a tropical oasis within the conserved Capitol Building in Singapore. The restaurant harnesses generous daylighting and spatial volume to deliver a holistic dining experience while creating a visually porous, spatially efficient and biophilic environment. Three distinct zones—bistro, bar and patisserie—are thoughtfully integrated into the spatial layout, designed for smooth movement and maximum interaction among its patrons.
Strengthening civic connectivity to the upcoming Opera House, The Opera Residence is a winner in the Architecture, Condominium category. With a sculptural architecture scheme derived from its adjacent context, DPA’s design team have articulated the fluidity of the river with the dynamism of music through a refined façade of angled balconies, artfully splayed tower floor plates and symmetrical volumes that come together to create a distinctive visual flow. Complemented by sustainable strategies such as passive shading, high-performance glazing and energy-efficient systems, the development embeds its commitment to environmental resilience and occupants’ wellbeing in its design while seamlessly integrating with its urban fabric.
Another winning project by DPA in the Condominium category, My Home 99 is nestled among the serene surroundings of Kokapet, Hyderabad, and blends nature and luxury to deliver a design that foregrounds comfort and multi-generational living. Anchored in its cultural context, My Home 99 integrates traditional Indian Jaali screens as a key design feature, lending the development a distinctive character while enhancing comfort and privacy for occupants. Thoughtful massing and shading strategies implemented through Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) analysis harmonise with expansive balconies to foster a sense of openness, creating a space that connects with and extends into its surroundings.
Commended for its user-oriented approach to hospitality, Novotel Goa Panjim is recognised with an Honorable Mention in the Architecture category. The design blends the sophistication of a city hotel with the tranquillity of a resort, featuring an architectural style carefully crafted to soften the harshness of its urban surroundings through its wave-inspired façade and curvilinear balconies. The room tower was also set back from the road to introduce a sunlit courtyard within the lobby, effectively mitigating external noise and traffic to create a serene environment and ensure privacy. Incorporating natural light, greenery and fluid form to form a cohesive design scheme, Novotel Goa Panjim is a recipient of the Green Key certification, an international eco-certificate awarded to hospitality facilities demonstrating its commitment to eco-conscious design philosophy and strategies.
Bridging Singapore hospitality with contextually grounded design, Singapore Airlines Perth SilverKris Lounge has also been also commended with an Honorable Mention in the Interior Design category. Contextualising the lounge within its location in Perth, the design interweaves elements iconic to Singapore with materials locally-sourced from Australia, featuring distinctive batik motifs and native timbers that celebrate the cultures of both countries. Designed with guests’ wellbeing and comfort in mind, the interior scheme incorporates enhanced amenities—such as a bar with a barista and shower facilities—within an open-concept lounge with adaptable zoning areas while addressing accessibility and safety.
