Young Professionals from DPA Wins Perspective 40 Under 40 Award |

Two of DP Architect’s young professionals, senior associate Ar. Joanne Gay and associate, Ar. Tan Zi Hua, have been recognised as PERSPECTIVE 40 Under 40 award winners.

Both Ar. Tan and Ar. Gay attended the A&D Awards 2024 PERSPECTIVE Gala Presentation held in Hong Kong on 20th February to receive the award. Recognised for their contribution to the built environment, both have been dedicated professionals committed to sustainable design and shaping spaces that positively impact communities. Previously, Ar. Gay and Ar. Tan were featured on Singapore Business Review’s most notable architecture professionals under 40 in the years 2022 and 2024, respectively.

With extensive experience in the healthcare typology, Ar. Gay’s portfolio includes the Sengkang General Hospital, the Elective Care Centre and the redevelopment of Alexandra Hospital; where the latter two projects were awarded with wins at the Ministry of Health Holdings (MOHH) Design Excellence Awards 2025. In a post event interview, Ar. Gay further shared what it means to be an architect and expressed gratitude towards the multidisciplinary award for giving her the opportunity to clinch this award.
Ar. Tan, who represented Singapore at Live Discourse 2024 and mentored tertiary students from different nations in the redesign of a public park, firmly believes that responsible design can benefit both humanity and ecology. Within DPA, she is now pushing to automate residential design processes. Ar. Tan currently manages the residential strata for CanningHill Piers, designed in collaboration with Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG).
Similarly, Ar. Tan also shared her sentiment on being a designer while giving thanks to her mentors and the design practice for this opportunity, and her pursuance towards responsible design and excellence.
