Awarded the Luminary achievement at INDE.Awards 2026 held in Melbourne on 30th July, DP Architects’ executive chairman Ar. Angelene Chan is recognised for her leadership and notable contributions to the practice of architecture and design. This award, which spotlights industry icons who demonstrate excellence in the design sector, is a testament to her accomplishments over the years as both leader and architect.
In addition to leading DP Architects first as its CEO and currently as executive chairman, Angelene is also among the board members of the Building and Construction Authority, Singapore Land Authority and Sentosa Development Corporation. A member of the Housing & Development Board’s Architectural Design Panel, National University of Singapore Board of Trustees and World Cities Summit Knowledge Council, she is a firm believer in meaningful architecture that benefits the users and the wider community. Among her portfolio of works are award-winning projects such as The Standard, Singapore, Odeon 333, Sunray Woodcraft Construction Headquarters, Paya Lebar Quarter, YOTEL Singapore and 6 Battery Road in Singapore. Key overseas projects include The Dubai Mall in the UAE, Noon Square in South Korea, Mariner’s Quarter in the UK and Bonnevaux Centre for Peace in France. She is the designer of Therme Singapore, envisioned as Asia’s first social wellbeing oasis and slated for completion in 2030.
Inducted into the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations Women’s Hall of Fame in 2025, Angelene has also been awarded AWiCS-SIA Woman Architect of the Year at AWiCS Awards 2025 as well as the Designer of the Year at the President*s Design Award 2018. Establishing a remarkable career of leadership and design excellence, Angelene continues to act as a mentor to younger architects within and beyond the firm.
